Oral Presentation

  1. Each oral presentation will last a maximum of 8 minutes, followed by 4 minutes for Q&A.
  2. All presentations must be in English.
  3. Prepare slides in PowerPoint (PPTX) or PDF format.
  4. Use a clear, professional template with readable text (font size of at least 16 pt). Focus on concise content supported by visuals (e.g., graphs and images).
  5. Presentations must be a maximum of 12 MB.
  6. Name your file as follows: Firstname_Lastname_Oral
  7. Send your presentation to cidesd2025abstract@gmail.com  at least until May 30th, 2025.
  8. If your presentation exceeds 12 MB, please send it by a “large file transfer service” as WeTransfer or other system.
  9. Equipment: Computers and projectors will be provided. Personal laptops are not permitted.

Conventional Print Poster

  1. Posters must be A0 size (841 mm x 1189 mm), in portrait orientation.
  2. The authors are encouraged to include the title, authors, affiliations, introduction, methods, results, conclusions, and references.
  3. Ensure visuals (graphs, images, tables) are clear, and use minimal text for readability.
  4. Authors must bring their posters printed and are responsible for affixing them in the designated area.
  5. Posters will be displayed throughout the conference.
  6. Each printed poster will be formally presented during the Poster Flash Presentation session on the first day of the conference:
    • During this flash presentation, each author has a maximum of 2 minutes with only 1 slide to summarize their poster.
    • Prepare a single PowerPoint slide that highlights key aspects of your work. Avoid overloading with text; focus on visuals and concise points.
    • Save your slide as a PowerPoint (PPTX) or PDF file.
    • The file must not exceed 5MB.
    • Name your file as follows: Firstname_Lastname_PosterFlash
    • Email your slide to cidesd2025abstract@gmail.com at least until May 30th, 2025.
    • The organization reserves the right to exclude submissions that do not meet the deadline.
    • Tips for an Effective Flash Presentation: i) practice your timing to stay within the 2-minute limit; ii) use large fonts and clear visuals for better readability on screen; iii) end with a compelling reason for attendees to visit your poster (e.g., “Learn more about our findings in Poster #12!”).

E-Poster

  1. E-posters must be a single slide in PDF format.
  2. Use a 16:9 widescreen orientation for the slide (e.g. 140 cm in width x 79 cm in height).
  3. Include the same sections as a traditional poster but concise for digital display.
  4. Ensure all text is readable, with a minimum font size of 20 (16 pt for references). Use visuals (images, charts) to support key points.
  5. Save the file as a PDF.
  6. File size: Maximum 5MB.
  7. Name your file as follows: Firstname_Lastname_E-Poster
  8. Send the e-poster to cidesd2025abstract@gmail.com until May 30th, 2025.
  9. E-poster submissions will not be presented during the flash presentation session. They will be displayed digitally throughout the conference for attendees to view.

Abstract Submission

  • Individual authors may submit a maximum of 2 abstracts as first author.
  • The first author must pay the registration fee to confirm the abstract for the final scientific programme.
  • In case the first author is unable to attend, a registered co-author is permitted to present the research on their behalf.
  • It is possible to appear as a co-author on other abstracts. However, each author can only present a maximum of 2 abstracts (oral or poster).
  • Abstracts must be submitted under one of following categories:

ELITE: The ELITE category encompasses research aimed at enhancing sports performance. This includes studies in exercise physiology, biomechanics, performance analysis, and psychological approaches focused on optimizing training, recovery, and competitive outcomes. Abstracts in this area may also explore innovations in wearable technology, precision analysis in elite sports, and individualized performance optimization strategies. Research addressing the impact of high-performance sports sciences on athlete development, team dynamics, and technical strategies in both individual and team sports is encouraged within this category.

HEART: The HEART category invites abstracts focused on the role of physical activity and exercise in promoting health and managing chronic conditions, including aging and disease prevention. This category includes clinical exercise science, community-based health interventions, and research into the physical and psychological benefits of activity across various populations. Submissions may highlight exercise prescriptions for specific health outcomes (e.g., cardiovascular health, oncology, renal, and metabolic diseases). Contributions examining the integration of physical activity into public health frameworks, community programs, and tailored interventions for different demographics are particularly relevant here.

Multidisciplinary: This category covers diverse fields intersecting with sports and exercise science, such as physical education, pedagogy, and sports management. Research exploring educational methodologies, policy impacts, organizational strategies, and innovations in sports-related pedagogy is encouraged.

  • Authors should indicate their preferred type of presentation – Oral or Poster. This, however, cannot be guaranteed and will be communicated on acceptance.
  • There will be three types of presentation in the conference: (i) Oral Presentation, (ii) Conventional Print Poster Presentation (with flash presentation of 2 min), and (iii) E-poster (without presentation).
  • The use of the Abstract Template is mandatory, and the abstracts must be prepared in English.
  • Please check our Key Dates for the opening and closing dates for abstract submission.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in a special edition of the journal Motricidade*.

  • If you are applying for the Young Researcher Award, a proof of eligibility (e.g., proof of current student status or a document confirming PhD completion date) must be sent by e-mail (cidesd2025abstract@gmail.com)
  • Please provide all the needed information in the submission form and in the email afterwards.
  • Receive your notification of acceptance or rejection.
  • If accepted: Pay the registration fee – abstracts from Authors that have not paid the registration fee until deadline will be removed from the program and the special issue of the congress.
  • The registration will only be completed upon payment of the registration fee. Please send the payment proof by e-mail (cidesd2025@gmail.com) after the registration process.
