| About Us
The Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences, and Human Development is a cross-institutional, technical and scientifical multidisciplinary unit for applied research, and is affiliated with the European College of Sport Science.
The CIDESD is a consortium agreement of 7 portuguese institutions, 103 Integrated PhD Researchers, 47 Collaborating Researchers, and 80 PhD students. Currently, our Research Center consists of two research communities: Elite and Heart.
CIDESD has established a robust national and international network, with bilateral agreements with approximately 50 recognized institutions worldwide and partnerships with over 20 non-academic organizations and companies, especially in the areas of healthcare, high-level sports training, and applied technology to sport.

Throughout the Years
The Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development (CIDESD) is a cross-institutional technical and scientifically multi-disciplinary unity of applied research hosted in the University of Beira Interior (Covilhã) and is affiliated to the European College of Sports Sciences.
After the evaluation by FCT, CIDESD was classified as a “Very Good” R&D Unit.
