Sandra Celina Fernandes Fonseca has a Master in Health Education/Promotion and PhD in Health Sciences and she is Assistant Professor at Sports Sciences, Exercise and Health Department at University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD). She is Researcher at the Research Centre for Sport Sciences, Health & Human Development (CIDESD). Her research area focuses on nutrition as a health factor across the life span.

She is Member at the Portuguese Society for Obesity Study (SPEO) and Portuguese Association of Nutrition (APN).​
