Nuno Garrido holds a master’s in physical education and a Ph.D. in Sports Sciences, both in University of Trás-os-Montes & Alto Douro (UTAD), Vila Real, Portugal. He was a lecturer at the Sports Science, Exercise & Health Department, UTAD, for 17 years and at the moment he is doing his post doc under the program NanoStima-Macro-to-Nano Human Sensing: Towards Integrated Multimodal Health Monitoring and Analytics.

He is a full member of Research Centre in Sports, Health and Human Development (CIDESD), Portugal. He is a level III Swimming Coach and his main research topics are within swimming training, embracing also biomechanics and physiology. He also cares about swimming teaching, mostly regarding drowning prevention.
