José Bragada have got a bachelor in Primary Teaching (1984), a degree in Physical Education Teaching (1991), Master in Sport for Children and Youth (1995), PhD in Sports Science (2004) , by the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto (FADEUP).

He has been a teacher at all levels of education, from the first cycle to the secondary level and, since April 2000, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB).

He is author and co-author of several scientific articles in the areas of Sport Sciences, mainly related to the evaluation and prescription of sports training / physical activity, as well as reviewer in scientific publications. In addition, he pioneered the revitalization of the traditional fighting game – Galhofa.

His scientific interests are: athletics; assessment and prescription of exercise / training namely cardiovascular / resistance component, traditional games – Galhofa.
