Jorge Arede is graduated from Polytechnic Institute of Viseu in Sport and Physical Activity in 2014. MSc in Sport Science at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2016, also holds a PhD in Sport Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro. His main research interest is talent identification and development, particularly focused in biological maturation and strength and conditioning fields.

He has been performed as strength and conditioning coach in Talentódromo Desportivo Vila Real, developing training programs to improve high-intensity actions performance in team-sports youth athletes.  Moreover, he has a sport coaching career in basketball at youth level, including collaboration with the Portuguese Basketball Federation, taking part of National Technical Staff as Strength and Conditioning Coach of Under 16 male National Team.
