Joel Pereira is specialist in Sports and Leisure by the Polytechnic of Viana do Castelo, Polytechnic of Porto and Polytechnic of Bragança, in 2014. Currently is PhD student in Sports Sciences at University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD). He is professor at Sports and Leisure School, since 2011, teaching in Bachelors (Sports and Leisure) and Master degree of Outdoor Sports (he’s the Head of the Master Course in Outdoor Sports).

At investigation level Joel Pereira is strongly interested in Adventure Tourism, Outdoor Sports, Quality, Safety and Risk Management and he has presented papers in several national and international conferences/seminars.

It’s a member of several Quality Technical Committees and Working Groups as expert at a national level and European level. Has been project leader of several projects at national and European level, related with sport, adventure tourism and quality services.

Joel Pereira is a nature and adventure addict, participating in several nature sport events, more often in canyoning activities.
