António Miguel Monteiro has a degree in Physical Education and Sport from UTAD, a Master in Developmental Biokinetics from FCDEF-UC and a PhD in Exercise and Health from FADE-UP. He is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Education of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, Portugal. He was Vice-President of the Basketball Association of Bragança (2016/21), was part of the board of the Portuguese League Against Cancer Northern Regional Centre, Bragança (2015/22) and is currently Chairman of the Refereeing Board of the Athletics Association of Bragança (since 2017) and President of the Cycling Association of Bragança (since 2017). His areas of interest are physical exercise and health. He has published chapters, articles and presented papers at national and international conferences and events. He is editor and reviewer in national and international journals publishers such as Frontiers, MDPI and Elsevier. He is the coordinator of exercise intervention programmes for the elderly (+idade +saúde), for cancer survivors (Rosa Ativo) and for adults (Fit-Up).
