With a background in Clinical Exercise Physiology (MSc), and Sport Sciences (BSc), Nuno is a PhD candidate that investigates the effects of physical exercise on the biological system of breast cancer patients. Has previously undertaken research around the area of the “athlete´s heart” and worked under a research fellowship position for a project assessing the impact of isometric training on the blood pressure of older adults – The Holdage Trial. Nuno’s research is now focused on the area of exercise oncology. As the main study of his PhD, he will be running a randomized controlled clinical trial that will evaluate the impact of physical exercise on the chemotherapeutic efficacy of breast cancer patients, as well as looking at the impact of exercise on other clinical variables
