Isabel Maria Rodrigues Gomes has a Master Degree in Sport Science and PhD in Sport Science. She is Assistant Professor at Sports Sciences, Exercise and Health Department at University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) and and her major focus has been on contents related to handball.

As Researcher at the Research Centre for Sport Sciences, Health & Human Development (CIDESD) she runs a project “Talentódromo Desportivo de Vila Real” that support and monitories several players from different sports. She teaches handball courses for coaches (Portuguese Handball Federation, Vila Real Handball Association).
