Hugo Louro is a Associate Professor from the Sport Science School of Rio Maior (ESDRM) of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (IPSantarém), integrated member of the Research Center in Sport, Health and Human Development (CIDESD).

He holds a PhD in Sport Sciences by the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) since December 2009, related to biomechanics of aquatic sports.

Currently he is a member of the direction of Swimming Portuguese Coach Association since 2009-2018.

Her current research interests include the Biomechanics in Swimming, neurmosuclar assesment, movement analysis and rehabilitation. Her research focus also is in the elementar swimming teaching. She published several papers in peer-review journals, some books and book chapters.
