Diogo Pinto is currently a PhD candidate at University of Maia, with a scholarship granted by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology. He holds a first degree in Physical Exercise and Sport and a MSc in Physical Exercise and Health, both from the University of Maia. His Doctoral program focuses on the impact of a home-based isometric handgrip training intervention, and home-based aerobic training intervention, in older patients with pre-hypertension and hypertension. His current research is mainly centered on the impact of such programs to reduce ambulatory and office blood pressure as well as improve other cardiovascular outcomes.
