Daniel Santarém holds a B.Sc. in Sport Sciences (2020), a M.Sc. in Teaching of Physical Education at Basic and Secondary Education Levels (2023) and is a Ph.D. student in Sport Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD, Vila Real, Portugal).
He was a research fellow in two funded projects: WalkingPAD: Patient education on a quantified supervised home-based exercise therapy to improve walking ability in patients with peripheral arterial disease and intermittent claudication (NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-03116); and Health-UNorte: Setting-up biobanks and regenerative medicine strategies to boost research in cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, neurological, oncological, immunological and infectious diseases (NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-00039).
Currently is a doctoral research fellow, with a grant funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (2023.05145.BDANA), with a project focused on peripheral arterial disease that aims to personalise exercise using a multicomponent approach.
