Carla Lourenço holds a PhD in Sport Sciences and is an Assistant Professor in the Sports Science Department of the Beira Interior University (UBI) in Covilhã, Portugal. She teaches undergraduate courses and master degree courses. Moreover, she is a Gymnastics coach, a special needs teacher and a trampoline judge in competitions.

Her main research interests include: Physical Education, Adapted Physical Activity, Adapted Sports, Physical Exercise and Health and Gymnastics. She teaches undergraduate courses at the University of Beira Interior, Portugal.

She is a member of the editorial committee of “The Scientific Journal of the FPDD – Sport and Physical Activity for All”. Furthermore, she is author of some publications, both at a national and international level, and a reviewer in a few scientific journals.

Carla has participated as a speaker on several occasions in national and international conferences.
