António Moreira is professor at the Sport Sciences School of Rio Maior (ESDRM), Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (IPSantarém) from Its Beginning in 1998, researcher at the Research Center in Sport, Health and Human Development (CIDESD) till 2009 and returned this year as integrated member.

He has a degree in Physical Education from the National Institute of Physical Education – ISEF, currently the Faculty of Human Motricity – FMH. In 1997 he completed his master’s degree in Elite Sports Training with a thesis on pure swimming about swimming Starts.

He completed his PhD in 2009 at UTAD – University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, defending the thesis: Computational Simulation Of Fluids In Swimming Research: Validation of Turbulence Models And Their Application In a Tandem Swimming Situation

Since 1998, he has been teaching at the Sport Sciences School of Rio Maior (ESDRM) some Courses, as Training Theory and Methodology, Swimming and Biomechanics.

Since 2007, he has mainly dedicated his research efforts to areas associated with non-conventional therapies, especially the relationship with Chinese medicine interventions and their compatibility with the Biomedical Model, having collaborated with School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) from Oporto University, namely in academic guidance and participation in PhD juries on the PhD Course in Biomedical Sciences.

He is co-founder and current president of SPMC – Portuguese Society of Chinese Medicine.
