Raul Antunes is a researcher, with a PhD in Sports Science by University of Beira Interior, Master´s Degree in Sport, by Polytechnic Institute of Santarém and Degree in Sports (variant Psychology of Sport and Exercise) by Polytechnic Institute of Santarém. He is professor at the School of Education and Social Sciences (Polytechnic Institute of Leiria). His research activity focuses, mostly, on the sport and exercise psychology, specifically the analysis of the determinants of physical activity (motivation) and its consequences on quality of life and well-being (emotional and cognitive component).

In the last years, he has published more than 70 articles in indexed specialized journals, as well as several oral and poster presentations at national and international congresses and conferences.
