Nuno Dias Rato is a junior researcher and invited lecturer in exercise and health. Nuno has a background in Sport Sciences (BSc at the University of Porto) and a post-graduate course in Clinical Exercise Physiology (MSc at the University of Bedfordshire). He joined CIDESD in 2020, under a research fellowship position to assess the effects of training on cardiovascular outcomes in clinical populations. In 2022 Nuno was awarded a 4-year PhD scholarship to investigate the impact of physical exercise on the efficacy of chemotherapy in breast cancer patients. His current main research interests are in the field of exercise oncology, particularly the impact of training on the immune system, tumor biology, treatment compliance and efficacy in patien
