Nuno Couto is a Ph.D in sports sciences by the University of Beira Interior (UBI) since 2018. His research interests are related to physical exercise and health, and sport and exercise psychology.

Currently is a professor at Sports Sciences School of Rio Maior (ESDRM) of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (IPSantarém) since 2012, and is a teacher at specialized courses in physical exercise domain. He also work as personal trainer and fitness instructor since 2008.
