Mário Inácio currently holds a BS/MS in Sciences of Sport and Physical Education from the Faculty of Sport at the University of Porto (FADEUP), a MS in Exercise Science from the George Washington University and a Ph.D. in Physical Rehabilitation Science from the University of Maryland. After a postdoctoral fellowship in the University of Maryland, he moved overseas for a postdoctoral research assistant and associate lecturer position at Oxford Brookes University.

Recently, he returned to Portugal for a teaching position at the University Institute of Maia (ISMAI), while maintaining collaborative work with Oxford Brookes University in the positions of associate lecturer e visiting academic.

Engaging in the areas of health sciences and sport sciences in his short career, he has developed scientific expertise in neuromuscular control and performance, and balance control mechanisms applied to the full spectrum of human performance, from athletes to the aging population.
