Maria Luiza is a physiotherapist with a degree from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), in Brazil, and a Master’s degree in Sports Sciences with an emphasis on Physical Exercise and Health from the University of Beira Interior (UBI), in Covilhã, Portugal. She is currently a PhD student in Sports Science at UBI. Her research area is related to fibromyalgia and physical exercise, with a research grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) – 2022.11890.BD. Since 2021, she has collaborated in the “assessment and prescription of exercise in the special populations” course unit at UBI. As a researcher, she also conducts investigations with the Research Group of Morphophysiopathology and Physiotherapy of the Musculoskeletal System in partnership with the Laboratory of Motor Learning and Control (LACOM) at UFPE in Brazil, where she also co-supervises academic work.
