Maria Helena Rodrigues Moreira is Assistant Professor at University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) since 2003, with Habilitation in Sports Science – Specialization in Exercise and Health from UTAD since 2014.

Currently directs the Master in Gerontology: Physical Activity and Health in the Elderly and participates in 3 INTERREG cooperation projects, two POCTEP and one of the Atlantic Area, having produced several publications in international peer-review journals and textbooks.

She´s a member of the UNESCO Chair on Geoparks, Sustainable Regional Development and Healthy Lifestyles and your research activity is mainly focused in assessment of physical fitness and exercise prescription, particular in postmenopausal women, and in potential role of the natural environment in human health and well-being.
