Lúcio Cunha did a BSc in Sport and Physical Education (2016) and a MSc in Sports Science, with specialization in physical exercise and health (2018), in University of Maia. Since then, he has worked as a personal trainer, exercise physiologist and fitness coach in football.

Currently, Lucio is doing his PhD with a FCT fellowship at the University of Maia. On his PhD research project, he is studying sleep and its effect on athletic performance. In parallel with his PhD research activity, he has been lecturing at the same institution since 2021.
