Jorge Manuel Pinheiro Baptista was born in Lisbon on March 18, 1968. He earned a degree in Human Kinetics – Physical Education and Sports branch at Piaget Institute. He completed a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports Teaching for Basic and Secondary Education at the Maia University Institute – ISMAI. He holds a Ph.D. in Sports Sciences from the University of Beira Interior. He has the highest coaching qualification in football and is a UEFA Pro Coach.

Currently, he is a lecturer at the University of Maia (UMaia) and a member of the Pedagogical Council. He served as the Internship Coordinator for the Master’s in Sports Training at UMaia and as the Coordinator of the Coaching Training Support Office.

He is a football coach and instructor at the Portuguese Football Federation in coaching courses. His research interests are in the field of football, particularly in coaching and coach education.
