Joaquim Soares is a Emeritus Full Professor at the Public Health Sciences and Psychology at Mid Sweden University, Sweden. He holds a BSc in Psychology and in Arts, a MSc and a PhD in Psychology, University of Uppsala, being also a Licensed Psychotherapist (Behaviour therapy, Socialstyrelsen)

Currently Joaquim is a Teacher in the Bachelor’s, Master´s and PhD programs at the Universidade Europeia, and the scientific coordinator of the PhD program. Joaquim has been a tutor and examiner of more than de 60 theses (BSc & MSc) and supervised 7 PhD thesis, having co-authored over 140 publications in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of psychology, public health and epidemiology, with a Scopus H-index: 37. He also acted as Reviewer and editorial board member of 17 journals in the Psychology/public health areas.
