Isabel Machado is an invited professor at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) and a researcher at the Research Center in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences, and Human Development (CIDESD). She completed her BSc in Sports Science (2010) and MSc in Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education (2013) at UTAD, followed by a post-graduate degree in Personal Training from Manz and the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies (2014). She completed her PhD in Sports Science at UTAD (2023), focusing her research on the long-term effects of supervised exercise in peripheral artery disease.
Isabel was a fellow in various research projects, including nanoSTIMA project – Macro-to-Nano Human Sensing: Towards Integrated Multimodal Health Monitoring and Analytics, “PASSUS saudáveis na doença arterial periférica” and EASIER (hEalth And wellneSs promotIng gamE platfoRm). Her research interests focus on exercise prescription for special populations and health sciences.
Isabel received an Honorable Mention for the best oral communication in the Sports Sciences session at the EliteSci 2023 conference, hosted by UTAD in Vila Real, Portugal.
