Henrique Neiva concluded the Ph.D. in Sport Sciences at the University of Beira Interior in 2015, with the thesis entitled “The effect of warm-up on swimming performance: the impact of volume, intensity and post warm-up recovery in elite swimmers”, supported by a grant from the Science and Technology Foundation, with the final grade of “Excellent”. Member of the Research Centre in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development since 2015, in the last years, produced more than 50 scientific documents and reviewed several peer-reviews papers in high-ranked journals. As a former international swimmer and coach of level 3, the first area of interest was in training and competitive domain, specifically in swimming. The interest in exercise and health emerged in the last two years, specifically on technological development, mainly because of recent post-doctoral research the NanoSTIMA project in UTAD/CIDESD.
