Professor Carlos Neto’s Research Grant awarded to CIDESD researchers

The Gym4PETIZ is the 1st ever project to win this award.

The Gym4PETIZ – Physical Exercise for Toddlers and Infants in Family project, led by Dr Maria João Lagoa, from CIDESD-University of Maia, was the winner of the Professor Carlos Neto Research Grant, an initiative of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) to support research projects in the area of motor development in children and young people.

This project aims to prevent physical inactivity and motor illiteracy in children under five, promoting healthy behaviours and improving motor skills, potentiated by the active participation of parents.

This intervention will be carried out in schools and communities in Portugal and will get around 350 children and their families involved.
