Duarte Neto has a degree in Physical Education and Sport at the ISMAI-Portugal (Instituto Superior da Maia-Portugal), an Advanced Studies in Physical Activity and Sports by Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports from University of Valencia (Valencia, Spain), a Master (MSc) in Testing and Prescription in Physical Activity from University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (Vila Real, Portugal), a Post-graduation in Rehabilitation in Medicine of Exercise and Sports –  Faculty of Medicine from University of Porto (Porto, Portugal), and PhD in Human Kinectics. His PhD. program was supported by a grant from COP (Portuguese Olympic Committee) and the University of Lisbon.

Duarte Neto work leads to developing strategies to promote sports performance and health. His research is focused on understanding the human physiologic mechanisms in response to different types of physical exercise attending the different stages of life, injury or disease.
