Catarina Garcia is currently a PhD student at University of Maia, with a scholarship granted by Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Her PhD project is focused on studying the effects of exercise prehabilitation in functional capacity of head and neck cancer patients. She holds a MSc in Exercise and Health (2016) from Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon (FMH–UL, Portugal). She was a research fellow in the Research Centre in Sports Sciences, Health Sciences and Human Development (CIDESD) and Institute of Biomedicine (iBiMED, Aveiro University) where she collaborated in a RCT that aimed to study the effect of aerobic exercise training in the treatment of resistant hypertension. She is also part of ONCOMOVE® team, which is a program of the Associação de Investigação em Cuidados de Suporte em Oncologia (AICSO) that aims to provide a comprehensive health service for people living with and beyond cancer.
