Carla Correia de Sá is currently an Assistant Professor in Sport Science Department at Polytechnic Institute of Bragança and a fellowship under the NanoSTIMA project. She holds a first degree in Nutritional Sciences from Egas Moniz Institute of Health Sciences and an MSc in Clinical Nutrition in Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science of Porto University. During her MSc, she has investigated the effects of persistent organic pollutants levels in adipose tissue on an obese Portuguese population undergoing bariatric surgery in obese in Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Porto Univerity. She also worked as a nutritionist in Hospital Pediátrico de Coimbra, Direção Regional de Educação do Centro and in ACES Pinhal Litoral I.

Carla was an assistant lecturer, teaching laboratory sessions in Biochemistry in MSc Degree in Medicine in Faculty of Medicine, U.P., and also a research fellow in CINTESIS, into the project titled “VALORINTEGRADOR”. In CIDESD, she has participated in studies “Motor skills and levels of habitual physical activity”, “Unveiling the mechanisms for the active way of life”, “Mexa-se em Bragança”, and recently in “the use of activity trackers devices and physical activity levels in Portuguese adolescentes and adults” and  “Diabetes em Movimento^®”.

She is effective member at the Portuguese Association of Nutrition and Ordem dos Nutricionistas.
