Ana Conceição is an Associate Professor from the Sport Science School of Rio Maior (ESDRM) of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém (IPSantarém) since September 2008, integrated member of the Research Center in Sport, Health and Human Development (CIDESD) since 2015.

She holds a PhD in Sport Sciences by the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro since December 2012, related to biomechanics of aquatic sports. She had previous experience in teaching and coaching in several swimming clubs at national level and also she was Regional Director of Swimming, in Swimming Association of South Portugal from 2006 to 2008.

Currently she is a member of the direction of Swimming Portuguese Coach Association.

Her current research interests include the Biomechanics in Swimming, neurmosuclar assesment, movement analysis and rehabilitation. Her research focus also is in the elementar swimming teaching. She published several papers in peer-review journals, some books and book chapters. She is also member of the e-lab on Ecological Dynamics and Sports Performance.
