Américo Cardoso is master in Physical Activity and Sports from the University of Madeira (UMa), graduated in Physical Education and Sports from UMa and PhD candidate in Sports Sciences at the University of Beira Interior (UBI).

Teacher in the Higher Professional Technical Course in Sports Training, curricular units of Sports Systematics – Handball and Specialization Modality – Handball (I, II and III), School of Technologies and Management of UMa.

Handball Coach (level III) at CD São Roque (Funchal). He has coached at various levels and clubs, participating in several qualifying rounds of European club competitions, in 15 national championships of the Women’s First Division and Portuguese Cups, including two finals. He has participated as a coach in talent detection projects of the Portuguese Handball Federation (FAP) and is an official FAP trainer for coaching courses.

Main areas of interest are youth sports, especially team sports and nature sports.
